Widgeon Hill Winery

...award winning artistry of wine making at it's finest

Latest Update From Widgion Hill Winery

We are proud to announce the latest Widgeon Hill Winery wine judging awards from the North West Wine Summit Judging at Mt. Hood.

North West Wine Summit is a regional judging which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. The judging panel comes from all over the U.S. and is attuned to North West Wines and Viticulture areas. Our clients are always excited about this judging as the wines are truly judged on regional fruit and wine making practices.

Because or wines are generally limited releases, we would urge you to call early to be placed on our preferred list of clients. As always, the winery tasting room is open 7 days per week and on occasion the barrel room is available to taste the new vintages that have yet to be bottled.

We would be honored to make ourselves available to you or your staff to taste some of Washington’s most highly regarded wines and vintages.

Very Truly Yours,

Joel P. Mills, Winemaker

The New Label For 2004

With much excitement and anticipation we have created a new label for our premium wines and it has been utilized on the Syrah, Zinfandel and both vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlot. We will include the new label in the next news update.

2004 Was An Exciting Year

2004 was an exciting year for winemakers. The weather was hot and grapes seemed to mature at nearly the same time causing a frantic time at the crush pad.

The great news is that the Reds chosen for the 2004 vintage loved the hot weather. Early barrel tastings are very exciting. I have to remind myself that aging and bottling is 16 to 24 months away. The 2004 vintage could prove to be one of the most outstanding years for Eastern Washington wines.
